Will I get a refund if I'm not happy with my cover?
We would prefer to get it right, so we offer a free revision if there is anything you want to change. When we return your watermarked cover, you have 14 days to accept the work and get watermarks removed, suggest revisions or request a refund - if we do not hear from you, we will automatically remove the watermarks after 14 days.
How long will it take to receive my cover?
We aim to return a first revision of your book covers in 2-3 days.
How much information do you need?
As much as you can give us! We need to know exactly what you want your cover to look like. If you want a pocket watch hanging from a tree in front of crashing waves, or a washed out backdrop of the desert, then tell us. Or better yet, send us a sketch.
I don't have a design in mind - can you help me create one?
We are happy to make suggestions, and the more information you give us the better. Colour schemes, themes, tones, images... If you are at something of a loss, why not browse similar books to yours for inspiration?
Why is my paperback cover slightly bigger than my chosen dimension?
Amazon KDP and other publishers advise slight oversizing to allow for the bleed. This is usually 0.125" (or 2-3mm) on each side.
Can you help me upload my cover to my publishing platform?
No problem at all. It is simple to upload your book cover to most platforms, but if you have any questions or get stuck you can contact us at any time.
Can I pay via PayPal instead of the booking form?
Yes, of course. If you prefer to pay by Paypal get in touch with us and we'll send you a payment link.
Does the page count have to be exact?
Yes, so we can accurately create your cover's spine. And remember to include all interior matter pages, including blank ones.
Why do you ask for the page colour?
Cream paper is generally very slightly thicker than white paper, which will affect the width of your book's spine. We need to be exact when creating your cover template.
Do I have to attribute MattJV Design or MJV Services for creating my cover?
Not at all, ; we don't require attribution for any of our work. You will own the copyright for your cover, though please note that individual elements may consist of public domain or royalty-free images.
Do you use artificial intelligence to generate covers?
We may use A.I. to generate covers, combined with some stock imagery, expertly blended using the latest graphic design software.
